2. What the App does

MePo is a metering / power monitoring application. The App lets you sign in, view dashboards and charts (including near real-time views via an embedded web experience), and configure compatible devices (e.g. ESP32) using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you provide

• Account credentials and profile: for example email address, name, and surname, as needed to create and manage your account.
• Communications: messages you send to support, if you contact us.

3.2 Information collected automatically

• Authentication data: when you sign in, our systems issue security tokens. The App may store a session token on your device so you stay signed in for a limited period.
• Technical data: such as app version, device type, and information needed to operate the service. Server logs may include IP addresses and similar technical identifiers when you use our API or websites.

3.3 Energy and device-related data

• Metering data: consumption, production, intervals, and related time-series information associated with your account, as shown in the App.
• Device setup: when you use BLE, the App uses Bluetooth on your device. On some Android versions, the system may require location permission for Bluetooth scanning; we use it only as needed for Bluetooth, not for advertising.

3.4 Embedded web content

• Parts of the App may load content from our web services (for example a real-time view). That content may receive an authentication token or similar parameter needed to show your data.

4. How we use your information

We use this information to provide and maintain the App, authenticate you, show your metering data, enable Bluetooth-based setup when you use it, comply with law, protect the service, and fix issues.

5. Legal bases (if GDPR applies)

Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the App); legitimate interests (security, reliability, abuse prevention); consent where required; and legal obligation where applicable.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers who host our infrastructure (for example cloud hosting and APIs) under confidentiality and data-processing terms. Our API is operated on Microsoft Azure; web content may be served from domains we operate (such as mepodongle.com) as configured in the App. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

7. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards.

8. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for these purposes. Account data is kept for the life of your account and a short period after, unless the law requires longer. Local session data on your device lasts until you sign out, the token expires, or you remove the App. You may be able to delete your account from within the App where that feature exists.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures. No method is 100% secure.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent where applicable; and complain to a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, email info@mepodongle.com. We may verify your identity before responding.

11. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Policy and change the “Last updated” date. If required, we will provide notice in the App or by email.
